Lee Harry, director of the upcoming Sharknado 2: Sharknadoier, had a unique obstacle with filming the movie. Actress Elizabeth Banks suffers from anatidaephobia.
Anatidaephobia is the pervasive fear that, somewhere in the world, a duck is watching you. The person believes that no matter where they are or what they are doing, a duck is watching them.
The people who possess this phobia have suffered some sort of trauma in their lives, likely when he or she was a child. This trauma probably had to do with a duck or some sort of related water fowl, like a goose. Perhaps the person was attacked by one of these animals.
In the case of Banks, she was attacked by a duck at a park when she was a child.
Some of the symptoms of this phobia include an anxiety or panic attack. This results in a dry mouth, shortness of breath, muscle tension, hyperventilation, etc.
In order to film Sharknado 2, Banks made sure that there would be no ducks or duck-like animals near her at any time. Harry agreed and was able to work around her needs.
"It's a little funny" explained Harry. "The film is about getting attacked by sharks. But Elizabeth is more concerned with a fairly harmless bird."
Sharknado 2: Sharknadoier 2, an Amyland Studios release, opens on October 18.
