Edward Regan "Eddie" Murphy is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, singer, director and musician. Despite the man's many talents, he has yet to appear in an HTG work.
Box-office takes from Murphy's films make him the second-highest grossing actor in the United States. He was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984 and has worked as a stand-up comedian. He was ranked number 10 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.
Eddie Murphy wanted a starring role in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. A part was written for him, but he ultimately disliked it and chose to make The Golden Child instead. Murphy later said this decision was a mistake. Star Trek is one of the highest grossing movie franchises in existence.
With all of the potential of a new Star Trek film, is franchise owner Miracle Pictures planning on bringing it to the HTG big screen?
"Miracle Pictures, both the studio and the production company, possesses a number of high-profile properties" explained a representative of the company. "When Marlowe saw the chance to own Star Trek, he jumped at it. Sure, he has ideas, but the writing would be time consuming and difficult in order to make it as good as it deserves. Will we ever see a Star Trek project in HTG Hollywood? We can hope. But it won't be for some time."
