Some days it doesn't pay to try to get even.
As reported in this news source previously, executives at Miracle Pictures Studio were annoyed by the announcement of Saints Dog, a movie based on the video game Saints Row. According to Miracle Pictures, the new film mirrors the Grand Theft Dog movies, a profitable series for the studio. Both sets of films are Pedro-authored films that feature dogs in acting rows. Miracle Pictures felt that a new such series would dilute the profitability of its product.
After discussions with their legal team, Miracle Pictures decided not to halt Saints Dog's October release with a lawsuit.
"We decided to take the high road" a Miracle Pictures representative explained.
No lawsuit, however, does not mean that action hadn't been planned. According to an anonymous source at the studio, another course had been initiated.
"The studio was on the fast track to get a new film written" the source stated. "It would be a counter to Saints Dog called Call of Doodie, based on the Call of Duty game series. It would star animals also, but not necessarily dogs. Squirrels were the initial choice, but that hadn't been nailed down yet. Thirty pages had been written. The studio guys upstairs were tickled pink, but then they got the bad news. The Call of Duty franchise is owned by Pedro. There's no way that the Baseball Mogul people would allow CoD to be used to hurt them. So the project was sadly scrapped."
Will some other action be taken, with that option gone?
"I don't know" concluded the insider. "I haven't heard anything, but I'm usually not the first person to know."
Saints Dog, an Amyland studios release, opens October 4.
