Chat Server Crashes, Terrorists Suspected

It's an event straight from a film, or almost.

On Sunday afternoon, HTG Chat saw a flurry of quotes from the action blockbuster Die Hard. Including well-known phrases such as "Now I have a machine gun, too, ho-ho-ho" and "The quarterback is toast," the exchange of quotes also included lesser-known ones such as "I prefer strawberry jam, thank you" and "Is that a machine gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?".

The quotefest was cut short, however, when a chat member with the name hgindahouse24 declared "Enough is enough!" Chat screens across HTG Hollywood went offline. Fortunately, chat was restored shortly after. When returning chatters asked what happened, someone with the handle johnnysavesthedayagain said "ur welcome" and signed off.

What was the cause of the chat termination. Is the abundance of Die Hard quotes leading to something more?

"I think the flipconspiracy may be back!" announced a chatter who wished to remain anonymous.

All residents are invited to come to HTG Chat today to participate in the newest HTG Awards. Who will take home the Golden Yodas?

HTG Producer to Replace Pope?

The world is buzzing with the news that Pope Benedict, religious leader for millions and millions of devoted Catholics, will be stepping down from his position this year. With that void affecting so many people, it's important that a new pontif is found.

And HTG Hollywood is home to one of the candidates.

"I hear that the Church is considering Chris Harmer to take over as Pope" stated Assistant Mayor Jay during a recent interview at City Hall. "Makes sense. He's Canadian, so he's not objectionable to anyone. But I hear he's married. Can you be married and still be the Pope? Beats me. But, way to go, snookums, if this is true. Can you imagine a My Little Pony series written by the Pope? Too bad I quit the herb. Or maybe I didn't. This is just wild, wild news, so you never know."

A message left for Mr. Harmer has yet to be replied to. Stay tuned for further information.

Cable Hack Slams Producer Over Lawsuit

Cable TV show host and verbal hack Bill Maher fired back at HTG producer Pedro on Friday, thrashing the Dead Island author over his Chihuahua paternity lawsuit. Pedro is suing Maher after the comedian jokingly promised the huge sum of money to a charity of Pedro’s choosing if he could prove that he wasn’t the offspring of a dog named Amy.

Pedro furnished a birth certificate and sued Maher for “babo of contract,” even though most observers understood the offer to be parody. In a recent interview, Maher blasted Pedro for failing to “suck it up” and take a joke. After joking that Pedro was so angry he was “flinging his feces,” Maher slammed him for treating the legal system like “a toy for rich idiots to play with.”

"I am owed the money," claimed Pedro. "If I don't get it, I'll have to write another Screech Monkeys film. Don't make me do that."

Pedro's latest film, Return to Dead Island, is currently in theatres.

February Movie Releases

By Goliathus

So fast and we are on February of year 2013. The movie industry still, isn't on full speed yet and here's hoping there are more releases in the upcoming months. For now, let's enjoy the time that we don't need to choose too much between what to watch.

February 1, 1st week of February

February begins with Bargain. The name is exactly the same as a song from British supergroup The Who? You are right, it's an adaptation. Inspired by awards, Lucian hopes to develop this into a commercial sale so reviews are always welcome. What about the details? There's already another article for that...or you can just watch the movie.

February 8, 2nd week of February

Return to Dead Island continues the story of the last film, picking up from the end of it with the remaining survivors venturing to a diffedrent part of the island. There will be new survivors played by CObie Smulders, TJ Miller, Aaron Staton and Lake Bell and let's just say not all of them are good men. There will be more zombies and also internal conflict between the group. When you do zombie films in 2010s, you really need to have more than zombies as the bar is higher now.

February 15, 3rd week of February

Valentine Week is definitely the hugest week of February. With three releases, it's a shark fight over the box office. The first entry is one that I think even actual shark will fear, The Butcher Cuts Loose continues the story of The Butcher and is supposed to be the third entry to the trilogy so expect some epic battles as The Butcher is set to fight against his former sidekick, Menace Man and also Dr.TV, who has some really evil plans in work. There are some scene re-shots but don't expect this to be less violent than the last two, it's not.

Another entry is The Measure of A Man, an arthouse war film of a newcomer that I don't think I have heard of his product company yet. Maybe he is still working underground or something but when this is up, I think he will be entering the Hollywood business for real with company name and so forth. Known as more of a "test the water" product, it is ultimately a small-scale film staring Henry Cavill and Ryan Gosling. Not the best week to test the water in my opinion but we will see how this do.

The third one marks the return of Kaven Productions, the company is pretty active in the 2009 but goes on hiatus shortly after that. It is back and its desire to deliver visual excellence to the audience is very clear. The Homecoming really suits "the return" very well, I meant the name, not sure about the content. Well, it's a drama that tells the story of a criminal that received the long-desired freedom and his attempt to adjust himself from the world that abandoned him a decade ago. He has a family and the world has evolved so much, it's pretty fair to say that he is like an "alien" in the current environment.

February 22, 4th week of February

Big Brother 2 continues the first one as the remaining contestants are trying to beat the others to become the last survivor and of course, the winner. When there's less people involved, the fights are definitely more heated and more concentrated, lots of backstabbing and politic sort of things for anyone interested in them.

"Mini-Butchers" in College

By Goliathus

Entertainment media like video games and movies always influence the society in a lot of ways. One of the "hot" upcoming movie is the third part of The Butcher trilogy, The Butcher Cuts Loose, put eyepatch, regularly wore by the protagonist The Butcher, up on the fashion map and on occasion, people just love to put an eyepatch on their face.

Today, the entire class of Degree of Art of Miami Dade College all has an eyepatch on their right eyes, causing quite a spectacular sight in the school ground. Plenty of the college lecturers are shocked at their first gaze upon the class.

"I don't know, it's just feel weird when everyone is wearing an eyepatch. It's actually very uncomfortable at first but after I know that they are not doing anything bad, I am fine with that." says Robert, one of the class lecturers.

"I thought they are just doing it for fun, you know, they did a spec day and a scarf day before so I am actually used to it. Never know it's about The Butcher though, I am a Butcher fan too and I might wear one myself if I know about their plan, you know, be the representative on the lecturer's side." says Samuel, another of the class lecturers.

There are also a few from the other programmes that participate in this eyepatch-wearing event, most of them heard the event from their friends.

"We decided to spread it verbally instead of the internet. It's boring if there's too many wearing eyepatch today, we want to keep it under a certain amount, to stand out in the crowd." says Johnny, one of the idea planners.

There are plenty of eyepatch wearers but not everyone think it is cool. A few of them are actually laughing stock of their classmates.

"Meh, it's sad that I am the only one in my class that likes The Butcher. It's just not fun and they are making one-eyed jokes to me whenever there's an opinion to do so. I guess it really takes balls to be special." says Derek.

"My friends thought I had a terrible case of pink eye, my mother almost slaps me this morning thinking that I went to strip club yesterday. Not really a very fun experience." says John.

Overall though, this activity does spark up a fair bit of interest in the school ground and most seem to enjoy it. It has a fair share of attention in the "twittersphere" and you can definitely find a whole bunch of pictures on Flickr.

"It's great that they added She-Butcher into the movie, now even girls can wear the eyepatches proudly."

"This is Miami, man, if we don't support Dwayne Johnson, who else would?"

"It's really fun to see the world with one eye. It's fun to attract so much attention in the school ground really, although I am pretty sure their stare on me are not really the good kind, more of 'dude, he's weird' kind I think."

The Butcher Cuts Loose is in theater February 15, 2013.

Frontier Goes Rogue

By Quantum

Rogue Net and KillerCroc Productions have struck a new deal to bring KillerCroc's latest pitch, Frontier, to HTG's small screens. The show, the TV debut for KillerCroc (Terror Shark), comes after weeks of negotiations between the network and production house. Frontier is being described as Jurassic Park meets Gears of War (this project was even rumored to be a Jurassic Park offshoot in its early days of development) and centers on former soldier David Hill, now a paleontologist, who is recruited to explore fossils out on a mysterious tropical island (think Easter Island) and finds himself finding much more then he bargained for. The skills he learns from the war allow for him to face the obstacles he finds on the island and prevent an onslaught of mayhem that could bring the world to its knees.

"When I received the script for the pilot, I was in awe of the action. KillerCroc really delivers in that department and I'm happy to say that it's an interesting blend of the action, sci-fi, and thriller genres" said Quantum, Rogue Net's owner and CEO. "I'm very happy to be able to work with Rogue Net," KillerCroc commented "I'm very excited to start work on this show. We've got an awesome cast lined up and some very fresh takes on the dino genre."

So, who's in the cast that KillerCroc alluded too? Well, as per usual, since the pilot is now in production we can disclose who has been cast in this new series, which has received a 3 episode order for the new session.

Playing the lead, David Hill, is Tahmoh Penikett (Terror Shark) -- the conflicted paleontologist who shows signs of still having PTSD even though he's been out of war zones for years. He's the driving force behind the series and he is the main character. Before, Tahomh was cast -- rumor had it that Gabriel Macht (Bad Hare), Alexander Skarsgard (Horror City), and Jon Bernthal (Reunion) were in the running for the role. It is suspected that the working relationship KillerCroc and Tahomh developed on Terror Shark led to his casting.

Playing the female lead on the show is Naomie Harris (The Wood: Remember Those Times) in her HTG: TV debut. She's said to play Tracy -- a mysterious woman working for the US government that helps recruit David to the island and who harbors her own desires. She's a liasion for David and his team. And a potential love interest for him.

Lance Henricksen (Splatter) is making his HTG:TV regular debut after guesting on such shows as Nowhere, Wanted, and Desperate Screenwriters. He's playing Ben -- the man who discovered the fossils and got David and his team to the island. He's a gameskeeper, sort to speak, and he's willing to do almost anything to get what he wants. Very mysterious -- and very dangerous.

Niall Matter (HTG debut), Lucas Neff (Worms), and Grace Park (HTG debut) round out the cast as members of David's team.

Expect Frontier to debut sometime during Session 14. And stay tuned for more updates regarding Rogue Net as the new session draws near.

Kunis Heats Up Screen in Biker Mice Movie (From Quantum)

Did you really think Jessica Chastin was the hottest woman on the planet? Well, you thought wrong! As Biker Mice From Mars gears up for release, it has been revealed in a new poll that its female lead, the ultra talented and beautiful Mila Kunis, has topped a new poll that says she is the hottest woman on the planet! And it could not have come at a perfect time as Biker Mice From Mars, an adaptation of the classic cartoon series, is set to be released this Friday. "Perfect timing," said producer MadShangi, who is eagerly anticipating the release of his first non-Butcher film at HTG. "She's goregous and we all know that."

Though LHF chief Quantum would not say anything, he did nod accordingly after that comment was made. It is just perfect timing the cast and crew kept saying at a panel promoting the film.

Mila Kunis plays a human character who encounters the Biker Mice and teams up with them against a villianous villain. "I'm not going to give anything away, but this could be The Dark Knight of cartoon-to-live-action films. It's going to be excellent-o" said lead Dwayne Johnson. Mila Kunis has been on a starring bend as of lately.

After landing the female lead in Snobs, the hit TV show from CzarTim, she followed that star making turn with a lead role in "The Dick Next Door," as well as roles in Heartfelt, Rosemary, and Hollywood Swan Song. Mila joins a long line of beautiful leading ladies who have won this award. They include Jessica Chastin and Vivica A. Fox, amongst others.
