Films continue to slip onto the release calendar. Currently in buzz vote, the Flips will be releasing Father Matthew. Featuring Chris Pine, the Star Trek actor plays a pastor who loses his parish's bankroll in an ill-conceived Hostess Ding Dongs resale investment. In order to regain the money, he signs up for a Matthew Perry impersonation contest at a local bar. Also starring Rachel McAdams as a rabbit's foot-collecting waitress interested in helping the pastor, the Flips are hoping that the chemistry between the two actors will boost ticket sales.
"Chris and Rachel had great chemistry" stated a studio representative. "We're betting that the movie will be a great success. Plus, who doesn't like a Matthew Perry impersonation contest? Chandler was the best character on Friends. Everyone knows that."
Father Matthew will open on this Friday.
