Frontier Goes Rogue

By Quantum

Rogue Net and KillerCroc Productions have struck a new deal to bring KillerCroc's latest pitch, Frontier, to HTG's small screens. The show, the TV debut for KillerCroc (Terror Shark), comes after weeks of negotiations between the network and production house. Frontier is being described as Jurassic Park meets Gears of War (this project was even rumored to be a Jurassic Park offshoot in its early days of development) and centers on former soldier David Hill, now a paleontologist, who is recruited to explore fossils out on a mysterious tropical island (think Easter Island) and finds himself finding much more then he bargained for. The skills he learns from the war allow for him to face the obstacles he finds on the island and prevent an onslaught of mayhem that could bring the world to its knees.

"When I received the script for the pilot, I was in awe of the action. KillerCroc really delivers in that department and I'm happy to say that it's an interesting blend of the action, sci-fi, and thriller genres" said Quantum, Rogue Net's owner and CEO. "I'm very happy to be able to work with Rogue Net," KillerCroc commented "I'm very excited to start work on this show. We've got an awesome cast lined up and some very fresh takes on the dino genre."

So, who's in the cast that KillerCroc alluded too? Well, as per usual, since the pilot is now in production we can disclose who has been cast in this new series, which has received a 3 episode order for the new session.

Playing the lead, David Hill, is Tahmoh Penikett (Terror Shark) -- the conflicted paleontologist who shows signs of still having PTSD even though he's been out of war zones for years. He's the driving force behind the series and he is the main character. Before, Tahomh was cast -- rumor had it that Gabriel Macht (Bad Hare), Alexander Skarsgard (Horror City), and Jon Bernthal (Reunion) were in the running for the role. It is suspected that the working relationship KillerCroc and Tahomh developed on Terror Shark led to his casting.

Playing the female lead on the show is Naomie Harris (The Wood: Remember Those Times) in her HTG: TV debut. She's said to play Tracy -- a mysterious woman working for the US government that helps recruit David to the island and who harbors her own desires. She's a liasion for David and his team. And a potential love interest for him.

Lance Henricksen (Splatter) is making his HTG:TV regular debut after guesting on such shows as Nowhere, Wanted, and Desperate Screenwriters. He's playing Ben -- the man who discovered the fossils and got David and his team to the island. He's a gameskeeper, sort to speak, and he's willing to do almost anything to get what he wants. Very mysterious -- and very dangerous.

Niall Matter (HTG debut), Lucas Neff (Worms), and Grace Park (HTG debut) round out the cast as members of David's team.

Expect Frontier to debut sometime during Session 14. And stay tuned for more updates regarding Rogue Net as the new session draws near.
