Although heavily still in the production phase, 21CC's film The Warriors is eagerly anticipated for April 24. Based on the Saul Yurick novel, which has already been made into a Walter Hill movie, the action involves a New York City gang in the Eighties pursued by a charismatic foe named Cyrus, portrayed by Anthony Mackie.
And, according to rumors from the set, working with Mackie has been less than a treat for the support crew.
"He won't stop eating!" proclaimed a worker who wished to remain unnamed. "Most especially, he won't stop eating Flip Brothers pizza. He's eating a slice up until Antoine Fuqua yells action. And the second he's done, it's another piece. We had pizza boxes stacked everywhere. If you look, you can see some in a scene now and then. I tell ya, Mackie's got a problem!"
When asked, a representative from the studio didn't seem upset.
"Sure, Anthony ate a lot of pizza. They were slices of New York style. He was getting into the role by consuming them... by feeling a bit of New York within him with each bite. Sure, he might have gained a little weight, but I think everyone will appreciate the effort."
The Warriors is a Decepticon Liberation Front (Teufel) production.
