Daniel Radcliffe can defeat the world’s most dangerous wizards... but dating is still a challenge.
Recently the Harry Potter star talked about struggling to romance his girlfriend, Rosie Coker.
“I hated dating because I’m crap at it!” said Radcliffe. “With Rosie, I didn’t know what was appropriate, like on which date you’re supposed to try and kiss her.”
That led to some awkward moments.
“At the end of the second date I pulled a move out of the Bela Lugosi Book of Woo,” he recalled, referring to Hollywood’s most famous Dracula. “I went to kiss Rosie and at the last minute lost my nerve and ended up kissing her neck, which is such a weirdly intimate place to kiss somebody on a second date. I got nervous and yelled 'Cha!' and ran off.”
But he’s gotten comfortable enough with Coker to say he is absolutely in love with her.
Radcliffe continued, “When Rosie’s here, every day seems better. I’m not an easy person to love.”
He explained that while there are “lots of times when I’m a very good boyfriend,” there are also times “when I’m useless. I mean, I’m a mess around the house. I talk nonstop. I become obsessed with things.”
But Coker doesn’t seem to mind.
“She loves me for my oddness, my awkwardness, all of those things that I hate about myself,” said Radcliffe, adding “She finds them cute. I guess that’s love.”
Radcliffe will next appear in Frontline Films' The Diplomat's Son, to be released by Horizon Pictures. Radcliffe will take the lead as Lucas, a young man who gets in over his head when looking for a job.
Rounding out the cast will be Michael Fassbinder, Gaspard Ulliel, Vincent Cassel, Terrance Stamp, Carey Mulligan, Christoph Waltz, Shailene Woodley and Aaron Paul. David Fincher is set to direct.
Eric has announced that the film will open on November 15.
