It is said that no one in HTG Hollywood thinks ahead as far as Pedro, chief of Amyland Studios and also Baseball Mogul Productions. With films scheduled months ahead of time, Pedro is without a doubt the most prolific writer in the city.
Rumor has it that Pedro is already looking at a sequel to Sharknado 2, even though the latter has not shown yet. Tentatively titled Sharknado 3: Beware the Land Shark, the movie is based on a series of Saturday Night Live sketches from the 70's. In the proposed film, a series of killings are performed by devious land sharks pretending to be plumbers or candy deliverymen.
But some observant movie watchers have noticed that the SNL franchise is not owned by either of Pedro's companies, but by Marlowe of Miracle Pictures. Being very protective of his properties, would Marlowe allow a film based on an SNL sketch?
"Don't forget," surmised a local movie fan, "that Marlowe has been very supportive of Sharknado 2. He even appears in the movie. Perhaps he worked out a deal for Pedro to use the Land Shark bit for a new installment."
Is Marlowe worried about how well his own studio's release will do on the same weekend? Miracle Pictures is showing Tesla's The Magician at the same time.
"Marlowe believes that there's room for multiple flicks" a Miracle Pictures rep explained. "He thinks both films will so well. At least he hopes!"
Sharknado 2: Sharknadoier and The Magician both open on October 18.
