And in Non-It's Always Me News...

In what comes as no surprise to most HTG movie viewers, the box office for the week of Christmas brought in record figures. Thanks to positive voting and a respectable buzz bonus, Batman: Season of the Witch tallied more cash for an HTG film in its first week than any other before. Other movies also did more than average, including the second place A Short Protest. Both films are expected to make the "top list" when they leave theatres.

"Thank you James Cameron!" shouted an elated Marlowe, producer and studio chief behind A Short Protest.

"Batman = Avatar" commented Flip Brothers Studio co-head Ritchie Steven.

Figures for the record breaking week can be seen here. Will the following week also bring in great numbers? New box office figures should be up some time this week.

A Pic of a Pretty Girl and Another IAM Plug. Shameless, Huh?

Rumors are once again flying around HTG Hollywood. Miracle Pictures frontman Marlowe has been seen around the city with Mabus actress Kelly Carlson. Is there a movie part for her in an upcoming MP project?

"I think The M is just enjoying her company" a production assistant to Marlowe stated this morning. "But you never know. Marlowe has so many things on his agenda that I'm sure he can find a part for the Nip/Tuck co-star. She's not working a lot here. Like I said, you never know."

Marlowe's next project is the return of his award-winning HTG TV series It's Always Me on Devil Ray Television.

Maybe Ed O'Neill as Kane. He Was Al Bundy, You Know. Good Stuff, That Show He Was On.

Many consider it the greatest movie ever made, next to Dude, Where's My Car? and Zapped! (the Scott Baio version, not the version with Peter O'Toole). The poster for Citizen Kane is iconic. Can you remake it, using contemporary talents? That's the subject of the newest HTG contest. Details can be found here.

"It's free to enter" stated a Photoshop artist in HTG Chat this weekend. "So I'm going to give it a try. I have no idea which actors I'll put in it, but I'll think of someone."

With a submission date of 1/30, all are invited to get to work on their entries soon.

She's the Mayor. Sounds Like a Possible HTG TV Series. Half Hour, Of Course. Don't Want to Totally Dominate the Ratings

Despite postponing the elections for a new city leader late last year, HTG Mayor Megan Fox still holds a high approval rating, according to a recent poll of citizens.

"I think she's doing a great job" a young resident expressed. "If I was old enough to vote, she'd be my choice when elections come up again."

Rumors that the mayor's office will be outlawing protests on city property have not been confirmed. Assistant Mayor R. Wilson is denying the thought.

"Mayor Fox is in favor of free expression. Forbidding organized, licensed protesting is not going to happen during her administration. All HTG citizens are invited to make their opinions known, as long as it is in a civilized, licensed manner."

More details on the future of the mayor elections will be reported once they are known.

Now If He Can Only Get One of Those Things Written, There'd Be Cake and Ice Cream for Dessert. Yummy

Fulfilling a promise to one day increase his inventory of properties based on comic books, Miracle Pictures owner Marlowe recently nabbed the opportunity to purchase the franchise Swamp Thing. Based on the DC Comic, Swamp Thing has inspired a real life film and TV series. What does Marlowe plan on doing with the property?

"I'm not completely sure" the long-time HTG citizen stated during an interview last weekend. "But at 50 million dollars, I hope to figure something out. I've got so many things stored up that I'll never get to all of them. But this situation was just too good to not hop on.

"You know, I really wouldn't mind having another producer take care of this" Marlowe added. "If anyone has any boffo ideas, give me a holler. One thing is for certain. I have no love for the television show. Anything like that is a wash. I'd prefer something more gritty."

Swamp Thing joins The Atom, Mystery Men and Captain Marvel in the comic-inspired franchise holdings of Miracle Pictures.

Franchise News to Chase Away the Blues

Adding to a nice library of owned franchises, Lucian Carter of Ship of Fooles Studio/Productions/Millinary recently picked up Hudson Hawk, the 1991 Bruce Willis cat burglar film.

When asked what he would do with the acquisition, Lucian replied "I'd make a sequel of it."

Valued at just 10 million, the buzz bonus for an HTG movie with it would be .10... not enough to lead to domination. But, being a fun property, where would Willis' wise-cracking character be 19 years later? Would Danny Aiello and Andie MacDowell still be around? What outlandish heist would Bruce be forced into?

"Stealing the Declaration of Independance is out, I guess," pondered a local movie viewer. "I'm sure that if Lucian really wishes to do a sequel, he'll think of something."
