Downtown Visit Ends in Theft

Producer Teufel of Decepticon Liberation Front may be celebrating two weeks at the top of the box office with his film Saddle Tramp, but the week isn't necessarily going as well as it should.

"My bike was stolen" Teufel remarked during a recent visit to a coffee shop. "I was downtown, checking out the new construction. Getting around on foot was necessary, so I locked the bike up on a pole. When I returned, all that I found was the wheel and chain... The rest of the bike had been swiped."

"Good thing my friend Czartim was down there as well, otherwise I would have had to walk to Malibu. Argh!"

Teufel's Saddle Tramp, based on a song by ice cream entrepreneur Baskin Robbins, is currently in theatres.

Producer to Try Stand-Up Comedy

According to rumors passing around HTG Hollywood, Baseball Mogul megaproducer Pedro is making plans for a career in stand-up comedy. After a recent appearance on HTG TV, Pedro was told that his sense of humor and work ethic would be great in the field. Since that time, Pedro has been researching a chance for his comedic talents to take the stage.

"Pedro is ready to try his luck before a live audience" an entertainment insider mentioned to this reporter.

Pedro's practice for his stand-up debut has not interfered with his movie releases. Baseball Mogul and Amyland Studios are releasing Hannah Goes For a Ride, a coming of age tale, this Friday.

Actor Not Quitting Biz

"Me retire? That's crazy talk!"

Such were the words of fan favorite Christopher Walken, who was reacting to a rumor that he is no longer seeking movie or TV roles.

"I'll take all that I can get," continued the actor. "Hair product isn't cheap, you know."

Although Walken hasn't appeared in a role since 2012's Rush Hour 4, he is confident that more parts will soon be on the way.

"You know, I can do it all. Drama. Musical. Comedy. Crime. Whatever. Wowie, wow, just give me a chance and you won't be sorry."

When asked why the rumor might have started, Walken had a theory.

"I hear that I have died every couple of months. I guess I can understand. When I don't get my espresso, I can be a bit stiff."

These Boots Were Made for Going to Heaven In

Veteran performer William Shatner is taking something that he loves to the grave.

"Bill loves the black leather boots that were a part of his Star Trek uniform" a friend of the actor stated recently. "He loves them so much that he wants to be buried in a pair. He wants to ensure that he will be wearing them in the afterlife."

As the franchise's primary starship leader, Captain Kirk wore a number of pairs of the footwear over his career. But there's one set that he is particularly fond of.

"He's emotionally attached to the pair that he wore in Generations. They had a bit more of a point to them, so he could use them when riding in that horse scene. He doesn't want to part with them in life or in death."

When asked if he had a favorite horse that he would like to go to the great beyond with, the friend did not reply.

William Shatner will next appear in a small role in Miracle Pictures' Grave Robbers, starring Rob Schneider. It has not yet been scheduled.

The Movie of 2013 Begins Filming Soon

Proper casting is a vital part to any filmed endeavor. Casting has been a hot topic lately. The announcement of a new movie on the release calendar has caused the topic to grow even hotter. This film's star is iconic, and perfect for the part.

What role is it? What actor is to take the part?

"When I saw this movie on the calendar, I was thrilled," explained Miracle Pictures chief Marlowe. "It's not an MP film, but I'm terribly pleased. And the characters? Man, I was in heaven. So much so, I begged the producer of the film to include a part in it for me. And he did! Woo hoo! I'm not going to say what the project is yet. I don't want people to push their way into the movie also. I need my screen time! But when it's time to make that announcement, I'll be more than happy to do so."

Marlowe, who has appeared in some of HTG Hollywood's most successful films, thinks that this new role may propel him to superstardom.

"It may only be a bit part, but people will see this and notice my skills. This is a once-a-year movie, to say the least. I can hardly wait to start filming."

Stay tuned to Happening to discover the film's name and who the mystery star will be.

Lex Role for Actor?

The possibility of new Batman casting in an upcoming Flip Brothers sequel set the rumor mill into overdrive this week. Who else will star? Which villain will come face to face with Batman? What about a future Superman film for the Flips?

Well, contrary to Internet speculation, Verne Troyer says he’s not signed to play Superman nemesis Lex Luthor. Asked about his supposed participation in a Superman flick, the actor told Happening “This is all news to me.”

“I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I’m known to be bald. ‘What bald guy can we get?’” jokes Troyer, pointing out ”The reality is they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him. The Flips will want an actor whom can truly play the role.”

Troyer last appeared on HTG theatre screens in Miracle Pictures' Tales of Terror and Suspense, in the Hunt Club segment as transportation specialist Hans.

Wrong James Earl!

James Earl Jones tells this report that, being a little crispy at the edges, he's perfectly fine after last week's exploding Smart Car incident. In fact, he's already back behind the wheel of a new one from Rico's Cool Cars. JEJ was in town yesterday in his new car doing some shopping and joked about the frightening moments when a Good Samaritan pulled him from the burning Smart Car at the side of the road.

"I needed a little PR for my role in The Man With Animal Powers anyway," the deep-voiced actor said. "I did learn one big lesson from the incident... Don't smoke in a car smaller than your bed at home."

Unfortunately for Jones, he is not appearing in ALS' The Man With Animal Powers. That role has been completed by football-themed actor James Earl.

"No kidding?" queried Jones after being informed. "Oh, well, at least I was in the season finale of It's Always Me. That was worth a few bucks. And working with Tracy Morgan was a pleasure. I didn't mind taking twenty takes for the scene. No one is perfect."

The Mad Dog production of The Man With Animal Powers opens in September.
